Tasks
Who You Are and What You’ll Do
As a Product Designer focused on the traveller experience, you’ll shape the first impressions travellers have of TravelLocal—owning the engagement, trust signals, and conversion moments that turn curiosity into action. You’ll work in tight collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Growth teams, iterating quickly to test and refine experiences that help travellers understand who we are and confidently say yes to our platform.
Here’s how you’ll have an impact:
- Design for First Impressions & Engagement – Create intuitive, visually compelling, and persuasive user journeys that build trust and drive conversion—with a strong emphasis on mobile-first experiences that resonate with an international audience, particularly in the US and UK.
- Rapid Iteration & Experimentation – Work at speed, testing ideas early and often. You’ll leverage design sprints, A/B testing, and rapid feedback loops to optimize for impact.
- Lead Product Discovery & User Testing – Conduct user research, usability testing, and data-driven design decisions to uncover insights and fine-tune the experience.
- Shape Trust Signals & Brand Perception – Craft interfaces and interactions that establish credibility, remove friction, and encourage travellers to engage with confidence.
- Collaborate & Navigate Trade-Offs – Partner with cross-functional teams to align design priorities with business goals, making thoughtful trade-offs that balance user needs with business impact.
- Drive for Results – Bring a strong sense of urgency to problem-solving, ensuring travellers experience the value of TravelLocal as soon as possible.
- Confidently Communicate & Influence – Advocate for users while navigating diverse stakeholder perspectives. You’re comfortable explaining design rationale, pushing for what’s right, and balancing competing priorities.
Requirements
What You’ll Bring
- Strong Product Design Experience – Proven ability to design high-converting, trust-building digital experiences, ideally for audiences making considered, experience-driven purchases.
- Deep UX & Interaction Design Expertise – A sharp eye for usability, accessibility, and engagement-driven design, with an understanding of mobile-first best practices and responsive design principles.
- Agile, Hands-On Approach – Comfortable working in fast-moving, iterative environments, with a bias toward action.
- Experimentation & Data Fluency – Experience with A/B testing, design sprints, and user research to refine designs.
- Stakeholder Influence & Communication – Confidence in presenting ideas, making trade-offs, and advocating for users.
- Resilience & Adaptability – You thrive in ambiguity, solve problems proactively, and bring energy and ownership to your work.
