- PMO Development & Governance: Support the Head of PMO in establishing and enhancing the Portfolio Management Office, ensuring governance, control, and standardisation across the portfolio.
- Planning & Resource Management: Lead strategic and operational planning, from 3-5 year roadmaps to individual resource plans, ensuring effective allocation and forecasting.
- Strategic Alignment & Value Realisation: Ensure the portfolio aligns with business objectives, embedding value and benefit realisation frameworks to measure success.
- Process Improvement & Change Management: Develop and embed change management processes, driving continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stakeholder & Supplier Management: Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, suppliers, and external vendors to ensure PMO services meet business needs.
- Data Analytics & Reporting: Utilise data analytics to provide insights into portfolio performance and develop reports and dashboards for key stakeholders.
- Risk, Issue & Quality Assurance: Lead risk, issue, and dependency management, ensuring quality assurance processes maintain high delivery standards.
- Training & Community Support: Provide coaching, training, and SME support to the Portfolio Delivery Community and PMO team, fostering a centre of excellence.
- Financial & Vendor Oversight: Oversee financial management within the portfolio, ensuring cost control while managing relationships with key suppliers and external partners.
What youll need
- Strong experience in portfolio office management, including experience in a PMO leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of project delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile) and experience developing PMO processes.
- Ability to assess portfolio value, make data-driven decisions, and drive continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in fast-paced environments while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills to engage senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in portfolio management tools, including SharePoint, Confluence, JIRA, and preferably Monday.com.
- Experience embedding PMO governance, processes, and best practices within an organisation.
- P3O and Project Management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) are desirable.
