Kraken Utilities
Our tech platform ‘Kraken’ is already licensed to support 55 million customer accounts globally, and we aim to serve 100 million by 2027. Kraken is the most AI-driven, innovative, forward-thinking platform for energy management. From optimising resources to delivering cost-effective, exceptional customer experiences through advanced Customer Information Systems (CIS), billing, meter data management, CRM, and AI-driven communications.
We’re now charging the Kraken platform to other utility industries (Water and Broadband) and have created a new team called - Kraken Utilities. Over the last 2 years we have built this team from scratch to re-architect, design, and develop our Kraken software platform to solve complex industry wide problems within the water and broadband sectors (such as customer experience & water leak detection).
The Kraken Utilities team is in a very exciting growth phase, and has already signed 4 clients; Severn Trent, Leep, Portsmouth Water, and Cuckoo. We are currently 90+ people (engineers, product, implementation, strategy) along with 1500+ people in the overall Kraken world.

Kraken Technologies has successfully expanded beyond energy, supporting the water and broadband industries with our innovative platform. Now, we’re exploring opportunities in the global telco market, and we’re looking for a motivated Strategy Intern to help us identify and evaluate key opportunities in this exciting space.
We’re building a future-ready team, and this role provides an opportunity to contribute directly to a strategic initiative that could shape our next big move.
This role is for a 3 month internship starting ASAP. You will be working 5 days a week and commuting into our London office (Oxford Circus) 3+ days a week.

Lead a research project to identify and evaluate opportunities within the global telco market.

Analyze trends, challenges, and emerging technologies in the telco industry to pinpoint areas of strategic fit for Kraken Technologies.

Collaborate with the growth and strategy team to refine findings and develop actionable insights.

Present your findings to the Growth Lead and other stakeholders, influencing decision-making on strategic directions.

Currently studying for or recently completed a university degree, preferably in business, economics, engineering, or a related field.

Previous experience or internships in strategy, consulting, or research is a strong advantage.

Availability to work 5 days a week for 10-12 weeks

A proactive attitude, problem-solving mindset, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

A keen interest in the telecommunications sector and a passion for identifying new opportunities.

Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize information and present clear recommendations.

Location: London office (Oxford Circus), ideally 3+ days a week in the office, some flexibility on this.
- Hours: Full-time, 37.5hrs a week, flexible working hours around core 10am-4pm hours.
