Job Summary
The Director of Sales, Meetings & Events is responsible for overseeing the sales, execution, and management of all customer events within the organisation. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong background in event management and B2B sales, who can drive the success of our events while fostering relationships with clients and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical skills and utilise HubSpot to manage event data effectively.
Responsibilities
Strategic Sales Leadership
Develop and implement comprehensive annual sales strategies aligned with subsidiary growth targets.
Lead the full sales cycle, from pipeline generation to deal closure, across all M&E verticals.
Identify and secure high-value opportunities with key decision-makers at client organizations.
Maintain and expand relationships with major accounts, including premier sports organisations, event organising companies and major corporate customers
Market & Business Development
Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and emerging opportunities; translate insights into actionable strategies.
Represent the company at leading industry associations and trade events (e.g., GBTA, MPI, ACTE, ASTA, SITE, ITME).
Translate client requirements into tailored, innovative service solutions that exceed expectations.
Operational Excellence
Collaborate with General Managers, VP, International Sales, Brand Marketing, and the global Sales Team to align strategies and maximize campaign effectiveness.
Ensure profitability and operational excellence for all assigned large-scale events.
Maintain expert knowledge of all company services and regulatory compliance requirements.
People & Culture
Lead with professionalism, fostering a high-performance, values-driven culture.
Support employee development, morale, and engagement.
Ensure client interactions are handled with professionalism and integrity, aligning service delivery with company capabilities.
Skills:
- Exceptional communication—written, verbal, and presentation.
- Deep understanding of the corporate and enterprise sales environment.
- Proficient in CRM systems (e.g., ACT, Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills, both one-on-one and in group settings.

- Demonstrated success in leading high-performing sales teams in a growth-oriented environment.

Education:
Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience:
Minimum 5 years in management and sales, preferably within events, transportation and/or service industries, including team leadership.

Pay: £65,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
