Role Overview:
As the Origination Director, you will lead the identification, development, and execution of business opportunities within the telecommunications sector. You will play a crucial role in originating and structuring financial solutions, building relationships with senior stakeholders, and driving value-driven partnerships. Key Responsibilities:
Identify and originate new business opportunities within the telecommunications sector.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients and projects aligned with strategic growth objectives.
Develop and execute a sector-focused origination strategy to grow the company’s presence in the telco space.
Provide insights into market trends, challenges, and opportunities to align product offerings with client needs.
- Client Relationship Management:
Establish and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and, where appropriate, C-suite executives at key telecommunications organisations.
Act as a trusted advisor, understanding clients’ business needs and presenting tailored financial solutions.
- Deal Structuring and Execution:
Negotiate and structure complex financial solutions, including receivable financing, inventory holding structures, asset finance, and bespoke working capital arrangements.
Work closely with internal teams, including risk, compliance, data science and product & structuring specialists, to deliver seamless execution of deals.
- Partnerships and Networking:
Build strategic alliances with industry stakeholders, associations, and ecosystem partners to enhance market presence.
Represent the company at key industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote its capabilities.
Track and report on origination performance metrics, including opportunities generated, deal flow, conversion rates, and revenue growth.
Continuously refine strategies to improve outcomes and achieve KPIs.
Key Skills and Experience:
Deep understanding of the telecommunications sector, including market dynamics, regulatory landscape, and emerging technologies such as 5G and IoT.
Knowledge of wider technology industry and associated network would be advantageous
Proven track record of originating and executing complex financial deals, ideally within telecommunications or adjacent industries.
Good understanding of corporate working capital strategies.
Strong commercial acumen with experience in structuring bespoke financial solutions.
A strong network within the telco industry is highly advantageous.
Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop innovative, client-focused solutions.
- Leadership and Collaboration:
Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with internal stakeholders to achieve results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Telecommunications, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Relevant industry certifications or memberships are advantageous.
