Salary: £95,000 - £120,000 + £5,500 car allowance +10% bonus
Overview
A leading global advisory firm is seeking an Associate Director to join its Joint Ventures & Alliances team within the wider Deal Execution and Strategy practice. This is a unique opportunity to work in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment, helping clients design, structure and deliver some of their most strategic and innovative partnership initiatives.
You’ll join a specialist team operating across the full JV and partnership lifecycle — from early feasibility assessments through to deal structuring, negotiation and execution. The role combines engagement delivery, business development and thought leadership, offering exposure to senior stakeholders and complex, high-impact transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end Joint Venture and strategic partnership engagements, from initial concept evaluation to deal execution.
- Support the design, negotiation and build-out of partnership structures and commercial agreements.
- Oversee multidisciplinary teams including legal, tax, valuation, accounting and deal execution specialists.
- Contribute to business development, helping originate and secure new client engagements.
- Scope, budget and manage delivery of JV and alliance projects to investor-grade standards.
- Develop thought leadership on JV and alliance best practices.
- Ensure adherence to risk management and quality frameworks across all engagements.
- Coach, mentor and develop junior team members, providing structured feedback and leadership.
- Provide flexibility to support broader M&A activity (integration, separation, synergy assessment) during periods of lower JV market activity.
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience designing, negotiating or delivering partnership or Joint Venture arrangements, either in industry or consulting.
- A strong corporate finance toolkit with the ability to support negotiation of key commercial agreements.
- Demonstrated experience across JV-related workstreams such as:
- strategic options assessments
- valuation and business planning
- deal governance
- legal/commercial agreement development
- end-to-end JV project management
- Ability to lead complex, cross-functional JV engagements.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging senior leadership.
- Proven capability in business development and winning advisory work.
- Experience overseeing multi-disciplinary engagement teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, commercial acumen and analytical capability.
