As we expand our operations across the UK and Europe, we are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Governance and PMO Manager to strengthen our programme delivery team and ensure consistent, high-quality execution across projects.
Job Summary
The Governance and PMO Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining project governance standards, portfolio oversight, and delivery assurance across Etherstack’s mission-critical programmes. This role ensures that all projects are aligned with strategic objectives, risks are proactively managed, and reporting is accurate and timely. You will work closely with Programme and Project Managers, senior stakeholders, and external partners to embed best practices, drive continuous improvement, and support successful delivery outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Governance Frameworks: Develop, implement, and maintain project governance structures, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
• Portfolio Oversight: Maintain a centralised view of all active programmes and projects, tracking progress, dependencies, risks, and resource allocation.
• PMO Leadership: Lead the PMO function, standardising tools and templates, and ensuring consistent delivery practices.
• Reporting & Insights: Produce executive-level dashboards, status reports, and risk registers. Provide actionable insights to support decision-making.
• Assurance & Quality Control: Conduct project health checks, stage-gate reviews, and post-implementation reviews to ensure delivery excellence.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key liaison between delivery teams, senior leadership, and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to project delivery methodologies, tools, and reporting mechanisms.
• Tool Management: Administer and optimise project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and MS Project.
Requirements – Experience and Skills
• 2+ years of experience in a PMO, governance, or programme assurance role within a technical or engineering environment.
• Proven ability to establish and manage governance frameworks in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
• Strong understanding of project and programme delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
• Experience managing project portfolios and producing high-quality reporting for executive stakeholders.
• Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• PMO certifications (e.g., P3O, MoP) or project management certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
• Familiarity with mission-critical systems or regulated industries (e.g., telecoms, government, defence).
