If you are a driven, high-performer who enjoys solving problems and learning new skills, our 18-month Change Development Programme (CDP) provides a clear pathway into a rewarding career in banking.
You’ll build skills and experience in Business Analysis, Project Management or within our Portfolio Management Office, giving you the tools and experience to lead change that matters.
We spend over £600m each year introducing new products and services, simplifying our IT infrastructure, complying with new legislation and regulations, and developing innovative new technology.
We don’t have shareholders, which means you’ll be delivering change that impacts on customers, communities and society.
As a Portfolio Management Office Analyst, you will play a key role in driving project and portfolio success by ensuring strategic alignment, data-driven decision-making, and consistent delivery practices. In this role you will:
Take ownership of governance and assurance frameworks, performance tracking, and portfolio reporting, acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
Analyse project data, identifying trends and risks
Co-ordinate governance routines, recommending improvements to delivery processes, ensuring that projects not only stay on track but also deliver maximum value to the business
Our Chief Operating Office (COO) is more than technology; it’s the engine behind Nationwide’s transformation into a modern mutual. It’s where strategy meets delivery, and where technology helps us serve our customers better every day.
During your 18-month programme you will work across a range of change initiatives varying in size, scale, and complexity. You'll gain exposure to different delivery methodologies and concepts, development opportunities and industry wide (Business Analyst & Project Manager) certifications including the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) and the BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis.
Our Change Development Programme will have two intakes, and the Portfolio Management Office Analyst will be available in the 1st June 2026 intake.

- Say it straight - We are brave in speaking out and saying what we think – we’re honest and direct with good intent, openly sharing diverse perspectives to reach the best conclusions and using language everyone can understand
- Push for better - We don’t settle for mediocrity, we challenge the status quo, taking responsibility for continuous improvement and personal development

High performing and purpose-driven colleagues deserve a rewarding career and competitive benefits to match. We offer you:
We forge our own path at Nationwide.
As a mutual, we’re owned by our members - those customers who bank, save or have a mortgage with us. We challenge the financial sector status quo. We don’t see customers as the engine of our own profit. We share our profits with them and put their needs first. Always there when they need us. Supporting them and their lives.
If you’re inspired by fairer finances, passionate about making a meaningful impact, and truly care about our customers, you’re one of us.
At Nationwide, you are challenged to grow and rewarded for doing so. Valued. Recognised. Inspired to be your best. As a community we want our working lives to count. As a team, we celebrate what we achieve. As a standard-setter, we work for the good of customers, communities, and broader society.
We are purpose-driven. Uncompromisingly customer. Unstoppably Nationwide.
