LEEDS EVENTS TEAM
OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
Did you enjoy UKREiiF? Are you the right person to lead the new Leeds Events Team Ltd (LET) in creating four new conferences in the style of UKREiiF?
I (Keith Griffiths) am the Founder of the hugely successful UKREiiF Conference (www.ukreiif.com). I sold and exited UKREiiF in 2024. I know what made UKREiiF so successful, and I can replicate that across other sectors. I have set up the Leeds Events Team to do exactly that.
We will create the new conferences in four new fields:
– The Entrepreneurs Festival (first edition in May 2027)
– Artificial Intelligence (first edition in May 2027)
– Space (first edition in May 2028)
– ANOther TBC (first edition in May 2029)
Each conference will be set up as a separate operating company, and all will be managed by LET.
Job Role
To set-up and lead the on-site operation of the new conferences to be created by the Leeds Events Team. To develop the plan with the LET MD and the Arthington Ventures CEO (me) and make it happen. Initial jobs to do include:
1. Develop (with LET MD and the Arthington Ventures CEO) – the LET Operational Strategy and processes
2. Liaise with Arthington Ventures AI Director – to streamline all LET Operations processes using AI.
3. Develop and manage the LET operations teams.
What does Operations Cover?
1. Site Layouts, artists drawings
2. Liaison with venues, Council, WYCA, transport bodies etc
3. Permissions, licenses, Council agreements
4. Branding design
5. Catering plans
6. Route planning
7. Rainfall contingencies
8. Team hotels and food etc
9. Security, red shirt planning, training and procurement
10. Procuring all site contractors, pavilions, exhibition, AV, branding, catering
11. H&S, Fire planning
12. Co-ordination with all sponsors/exhibitors
13. Database management of all attendees
14. Ticket distribution
15. On site communications and WiFi
16. On site management of setup, operation and take down
Structure
The Leeds Events Team Ltd will be wholly owned by my holding company, Arthington Ventures Ltd. You will report to me directly. You will have the following support from my Arthington Ventures team:
1. Sales Director
2. Marketing Director
3. Commercial Director
4. AI Director
5. Finance Director
Arthington Ventures Ltd will own and operate several other companies as well as Leeds Events team.
The Leeds Events Team Ltd will directly employ (at Senior Team Level):
1. Managing Director
2. Operations Director (you)
3. Sales Director
4. Marketing Director
5. Content Director
6. Website Manager
7. Research Manager
8. Finance Manager
Other staff will be employed below the Senior team as required.
Prime Responsibilities
- Create a profitable company, from being a startup to one that can be exited in 3 to 5 years.
- Employ the best people possible for each role, ensuring the team is happy and overachieving in both performance and reward
It is preferable that you have the following experience:
- Conference set up and operational experience and skills
The successful candidate will be:
- Hard working, effective and efficient - there will be a lot of work required – the ability to prioritise and work quickly is very important
- Hugely ambitious and hungry to create a financial opportunity for themselves.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to prioritise and manage your own workload
Package
- Auto-Enrolment in Company Pension team.
- We have learned from UKREiiF that this type of business must be primarily office based. Therefore, during the quieter months of September through to December – probably 3 days per week in the office. Then January to March and July to August is around 4 days per week, finally April, May and June are full time in the office.
- Enrolment into the whole team annual bonus scheme based on overall business turnover and profitability
- After 18 months, at the sole discretion of the Owner, enrolment into an EMI Share scheme which should provide a 6-7 figure bonus in a 3-5 years time.
