Project Engineer (Waste-To-Energy) Employment type: Contract, 6 months (Outside IR35)
Location: Glasgow, Scotland
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £500 per day (including expenses)
Company/Role We are working with a leader in renewable energy with a strong track record of developing and operating biogas projects across the UK and Ireland. Backed by major investment, the business is growing rapidly and is now seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support in the development of a large-scale biogas plant.
This contract role will see you play a key part in the design, procurement, and construction phases, ensuring successful delivery of a landmark clean energy project.
Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in design development, contractor coordination, and project delivery.
- Oversee construction activity, monitor progress, and resolve technical and contractual issues.
- Develop and manage pre-construction and construction programmes.
- Liaise with contractors, utilities, and statutory bodies to keep the project on track.
- Contribute to process planning for commissioning and operational handover.
Experience / Skills Required
- Proven track record as a Project Engineer on complex infrastructure or energy projects.
- Background in biogas, biomethane (Gas to Grid), or renewable energy is desirable but not essential.
- Degree (or equivalent) in Process or Mechanical Engineering with strong construction experience.
- Strong technical, commercial, and contractual understanding.
- Experience managing multiple contractors and large-scale construction scopes.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
