The role is a Large Loss Claims Handler to proactively manage a portfolio of Large Loss / Catastrophic Loss claims.
Our client is looking to speak with candidates who will have experience of working on cases of £250k plus. In addition, candidates who have been working on cases exceeding £1million, £2million, £3million plus will also be of real interest.
For the larger authority limits, you will have worked on cases including fatality, brain and spinal cord injuries.
Our client is interested in speaking with candidates from both the insurer sector and those from a current legal background.
This is a remote role although you will need to occasionally attend one of our clients offices for team meetings.
Salary range: £50k to £85k plus DOE on experience and Authority Limit
This is a permanent, full time position.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively manage your own portfolio of high value claims which may include fatality, brain and spinal cord injuries (depending on your authority limit).
- Ensure all claims outside the agreed financial authority and limits are referred in accordance with the Large Loss referral process.
- Ensure all new and internally reallocated claims are reserved within agreed SLA.
- Maintain and improve stakeholder confidence in the Large Loss team by ensuring cases are handled properly throughout their lifecycle with a high degree of technical excellence.
- Maintain a detailed working knowledge of current and developing legislation, working practices and Indemnity and Liability.
- Maintain Reinsurer confidence by liaising with them in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure all claims which cross the threshold of reporting are reported to Reinsurers within agreed timescales.
- Ensure that you are meeting customers’ fair and reasonable expectations and provide fair outcomes.
The successful candidate will have / be:
- 3 years plus previous experience working as a Large Loss Motor Claims Handler including Personal Injury / CAT loss
- Strong knowledge of insurance/indemnity policies
- Capable of negotiating claims with policyholders and loss assessors
- Excellent organisation skills
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to negotiate
- A full clean driving license is required due to the nature of the role
