About the Role
NOTE: Financial services/fintech experience is essential to this role. Please do not apply if you do not have 5+ years of project management experience in this field.
We are hiring a mid-level Project Manager to join our growing team. You'll play a pivotal role in cross-functional delivery—spanning Technology, Risk & Compliance, and Operations—supporting the successful execution of a multi-product technology stack.
This is a hands-on role overseeing project execution from start to finish, embedding best practices, aligning stakeholders, managing risks, and ensuring milestones are met. You will plan, coordinate and track multiple workstreams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and meet regulatory requirements. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-growth, ambiguous environment. You must be comfortable challenging the status quo and working closely with senior stakeholders – often needing to challenge them on delivery timeframes and being strong enough to require meaningful explanations of delays.
Key Responsibilities
• Project Delivery: Define scope, timelines, resource plans, and success metrics for key projects (e.g., product launches, platform migrations, regulatory change)
• Requirements Gathering: Support the teams in collecting and analysing business requirements from stakeholders to understand business needs and objectives.
• Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and ensure their needs are met throughout the project lifecycle.
• Solution Implementation: Assist in the implementation of business solutions and ensure they meet business requirements.
• Testing and Release Management: Support testing and roll out of software to ensure solutions are functioning as intended and meet business needs.
• Change Management: Own the Change Management process to facilitate the smooth delivery of change management initiatives.
• Defect Management: Own and manage the process to ensure that defects are classified, prioritized and released into production in a seamless manner.
• Continuous Improvement: Continuously seek ways to improve business processes and drive organizational efficiency.
• Data Analysis: Utilise data analytics tools to evaluate business processes and identify areas for improvement.
• Data Capture and Reporting: establishing a process for capturing appropriate data and setting up tools to provide MI through dashboards.
Requirements
• 5+ years of project management experience, in FinTech, banking, and/or payments
• Strong experience delivering cross-functional projects in high-growth environments
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum and at least one traditional PM framework (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP)
• Experience working in matrixed teams with multiple stakeholders
• Hands-on experience with project management tools (JIRA, Asana, Monday.com)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Understanding of the UK/EU regulatory landscape (e.g., FCA, PSD2, AML, GDPR)
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; PMP/PRINCE2/CBAP certifications a plus
Desired Traits
• Organised, analytical, and detail-oriented
• Collaborative, proactive, and delivery-focused
• Adaptable in fast-paced and changing environments
• Technical familiarity with APIs, microservices, or fintech platforms
