Our client is a leading Secondaries fund specializing in secondary transactions in Private Equity and Private Credit through both closed-end and open-ended funds. They focus on delivering value through disciplined investment strategies, leveraging deep market knowledge, and innovative solutions. As a rapidly growing firm, they are looking to expand their team with dynamic and motivated professionals to help drive with their continued success.
As a VP in our client’s growing Product & Origination team, you will be responsible for helping to support commercial strategy, product formation & client engagement initiatives. This involves leading the product launch(es) and lifecycle management of new/existing flagship and private wealth funds and additional responsibilities include ability to:
- Develop a deep understanding of our product suite and that of competitors
- Lead development of marketing content and define strategic direction for products
- Development of strategic proposals for clients investing via SMAs/Feeders
- Coordinate closely with investment team, service providers and internal stakeholders such as legal, risk management, operations, compliance, controllers and tax in order to effectively manage the product lifecycle
- Lead and direct distributor and platform onboarding processes, from initial engagement to legal documentation and negotiations; involves close collaboration with legal/product structuring colleagues to drive terms and manage side-letter negotiations.
Desirable experience:
5-7+ years in a similar or related role within an asset management firm, investment bank, private equity firm, placement agent, and/or consulting firm; legal background / experience a strong plus.
Familiarity with various private markets strategies (e.g. Private Equity, Private Credit) and institutional and private wealth funds.
Initiative and creativity in approach to problem solving and to be resourceful.
Interest in working in an entrepreneurial environment with the ability to take initiative and have creativity in approach to problem solving.
Experience and expertise in private markets product development including onboarding, restructuring, and liquidating complex cross-jurisdictional fund structures, such as Luxembourg SICAVs, SMAs, Japanese onshore feeder funds and Registered Investment Companies in the U.S.
Excellent communication (written and oral), analytical and interpersonal skills. A second European language (French, Spanish or German) is a distinct advantage.
Strong relationship building skills, for use with both clients, internal stakeholders and service providers.
Strong organizational skills and ability to help direct / manage production of a high volume of quality work across team within tight timeframes, often including multiple simultaneous projects.
Attention to detail—proven experience of delivering high levels of accuracy.
Candidate must be a team player and self-motivated, demonstrating a willingness to take on more responsibility over time.
Demonstrates strong leadership skills, including the ability to lead regional teams.
