Role Overview
This role is ideal for an experienced semiconductor executive with a track record in leading engineering teams, technology strategy, and product innovation in GPU and AI hardware architecture. The VP/Director will drive cross-functional collaboration, product roadmaps, and strategic engagements with partners and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the GPU & AI Hardware Architecture organization, driving innovation across mobile, data center, and automotive applications.
- Develop and implement technology roadmaps in collaboration with product management and engineering teams.
- Oversee the architecture and development of next-generation multi-threaded, ultra-low-power GPUs and AI accelerators.
- Provide technical leadership for the design of highly parallel computing architectures.
- Collaborate with software teams to optimize hardware-software interactions, ensuring efficiency in AI, deep learning, and OpenCL-based applications.
- Engage with industry partners, EDA vendors, and design service providers to drive innovation and ecosystem development.
- Contribute to corporate strategy, fundraising efforts (if applicable), and early-stage technology validation with OEMs and integrators.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering and architecture teams.
Key Requirements
- Experience in semiconductor engineering, with a strong focus on GPU and AI accelerator architectures.
- Proven track record of managing and scaling engineering organizations in both startup and large corporate environments.
- Expertise in designing and architecting multi-threaded GPUs, heterogeneous compute platforms, and deep learning accelerators.
- Strong knowledge of 3D graphics, OpenCL, and AI workloads.
- Experience with software driver architectures, power and performance modeling.
- Strategic mindset with experience in roadmap planning and technology pathfinding.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, including pre-sales and partner/customer interactions.
Preferred Experience
- Experience leading engineering teams within a semiconductor or technology company.
- Background in securing startup funding and building advisory/founding teams (for candidates with startup experience).
- Strong industry relationships with EDA vendors and design services providers.
