Job Overview
We are seeking a Control Room Operator to join the Control and Performance Monitoring Team at Statera Energy Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations within the control room, ensuring smooth communication and coordination across multiple departments. This role requires strong communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The role involves working a rostered shift pattern, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Background
We are a leading provider of operations and maintenance services for flexible generation and battery energy storage assets in the UK, managing over 1.2GW of assets nationwide. The Control Room Operator is a critical part of our Control and Performance Monitoring Team, which serves as the hub for all operational activity. The team plays a pivotal role in coordinating asset management, troubleshooting operational issues, and ensuring the smooth running of our assets.

Duties
- Monitor operational assets in real-time, using SCADA and CCTV systems to identify and respond to plant and equipment issues
- Respond to alarms appropriately, efficiently and effectively with apt distinguishing of the success of remote equipment restoration with the necessity for engineer dispatch to reinstate equipment.
- Coordinate with the Asset Management teams, Field Service Engineers, and Security Patrols to resolve operational problems quickly and efficiently.
- Prioritize, diagnose, and manage faults, ensuring prompt action is taken to resolve issues and that all events are documented accurately.
- Perform initial diagnostics on site events, determine the next steps for addressing operational problems, and maintain comprehensive records of all actions in the system.
- Support asset management by tracking equipment issues throughout the asset lifecycle and ensuring effective maintenance scheduling through the CMMS system.
- Collaborate with the Portfolio Management and Field Service teams to ensure swift responses to operational challenges.
- Provide regular performance updates to the management team, outlining site performance, maintenance needs, and other operational metrics.
- Ensure smooth communication and alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
- Play an active role in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline operational processes and improve efficiency.
Experience
- Experience in a control room environment or a similar role is not required, though relevant experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to operational challenges with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Passionate about renewables and the energy transition, with a strong desire to learn and grow within the company.
- Ability to manage interactions with internal teams and external partners effectively.

Pay: £25,281.00-£30,000.00 per year
