An exciting opportunity exists to join the Assessment and Reporting Division in the Assessment Programs Unit for an ongoing, full-time position.
- Salary: $134,593 - $157,355 (Plus Superannuation 11.5%)

Role Purpose
The Program Manager, Assessment Programs is responsible for providing high-level expertise, project management, professional leadership, policy advice and strategic direction to support the delivery of a range of VCAA external assessment programs with a specific focus on NAPLAN writing.
The position is responsible for managing the program delivery and logistical operations for the marking of NAPLAN writing, in addition to recruiting and managing a team of professional markers and support staff.
The role is required to contribute to strategic decision-making processes, both at a state and national level, and advise and brief senior stakeholders on policy, assessment, and operational issues.
In addition, the Program Manager has a pivotal role in:
- ensuring that all students' responses to external assessments are marked with appropriate oversight and adherence to rigorous quality assurance processes in a streamlined and timely manner.
- identifying and responding to new and emerging issues and trends impacting the operating environment for high-stakes external assessment.
About the unit
The Assessment and Reporting Division is responsible for a range of services including:
- the delivery and reporting of all VCE examinations and the National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests,
- the development, delivery and marking of the General Achievement Test (GAT)
- the recruitment and training of all assessment sessional staff
- supporting the marking of all external assessments
- collecting, maintaining and processing student enrolment data and assessment results for NAPLAN and Senior Secondary level qualifications.
The Assessment Programs Unit oversees the delivery and reporting of the National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests and is based at the VCAA Assessment Centre in Coburg.

Experience and qualifications
Experience in the development and delivery of high stakes assessments is highly desirable.
