We are expanding through:

BuzzHound (Not Launched) – original board, card and party games
Unsolved Trails – outdoor and travel-based mystery experiences

We are now looking for a Head of Game & Product Innovation to lead the next generation of experiences across our brands.

The Role

You will own the creation, development, and innovation of new games as well as improving our existing catalogue. This is a hands-on creative and product leadership role that blends storytelling, gameplay design, AI creativity, and commercial impact.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end game development from concept to launch across murder mysteries, cold-case files, board games, party games, and hybrid formats.
Improve and expand existing titles with stronger gameplay, puzzles, and storylines.
Use AI tools where appropriate (ChatGPT, Sora, Veo 3, Runway and similar) to assist in producing imagery, video, narrative assets, and puzzles.
Research emerging creative and AI technologies to keep our products innovative.
Explore and prototype app-based or digital gameplay experiences.
Work closely with writers, illustrators, designers, operations, and marketing.
Oversee production planning, creative briefs, and launch timelines.
Conduct market and competitor research to identify new opportunities.
Identify, recruit, and manage freelance or external specialists (writers, illustrators, designers, developers) as needed for each project.
Build creative briefs, evaluate proposals, and ensure all outsourced work meets brand standards.

About You

Experience in game design, product development, creative direction, or interactive storytelling.
Strong understanding of tabletop, board games, puzzle, narrative or mystery-based gameplay.
Confident using AI creative tools and experimenting with new technologies.
Technically curious ideally familiar with low-code/no-code or app-prototyping tools.
Commercially minded with an understanding of what engages players and what sells.
Highly organised and proactive, able to manage multiple projects at once.
Excellent communicator who collaborates well across creative and operations teams.
Experience sourcing, hiring and managing creative specialists or freelancers.
Confident leading projects end-to-end with minimal direction, generating original concepts and executing them.

Bonus Skills (Not Essential)

Experience developing mobile or web-based game experiences.
Familiarity with Shopify or e-commerce product launches.
UX/UI or interactive storytelling engine experience.
Knowledge of 3D, motion, or creative tech tools.
Understanding of board game or other print production or physical product workflows.

Pay: £45,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
